PCST Weekly Update

Congratulations, Piranhas, on competing so well against such a huge team. Our guests were many, but Piranhas were mighty. All of the swimmers’ smiles, along with the actual sun, were a beautiful sight. And, a huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers. We could not pull this off for our kids without your help. It is truly appreciated!

Next Away Meet – Grant Ranch - June 17

Our next meet on Saturday, June 17, is away at Grant Ranch. The meet starts at 7am. The big kids warm up at 6am, the little kids warm up at 6:30am. It’s a beautiful host pool and we look forward to another day of competition.

Ken Caryl Invite June 23 and June 24

The Ken Caryl Invite is Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24. This is a qualification meet and Piranhas have one more meet to qualify. KCI entries will be due following the outcome of the June 17 meet, so start thinking ahead. KCI volunteer shifts will be posted once entries are in and we receive the team requirements. The KCI schedule breakdown is as follows:

Friday June 23: 13&Over 400s warmup 8am, start 9am. All over events warmup 10am, start 11am.

Saturday June 24: 12&Under warmup 6am, start 7am.

Gator Open June 21

If a swimmer does not qualify for the KCI, never fear! PCST will be hosting a virtual Gator Open on Wednesday, June 21, at Normandy Pool. The Gator Open is a virtual meet against all other South Jeffco Swim League teams. The Gator Open has a number of participants that we can complete it during morning practice. This will help alleviate the risk of having to cancel in the evening due to weather and avoid having everyone return to the pool for a second time. As such, regular practice times and Gator Open times will be as follows:

6:15am-7:15am Practice – Group 1

7:10-7:55am Practice – 12 and under KCI Qualifiers

7:20-7:50am – Gator Open Swimmer Warm Up

8:00am – Gator Open Start

We recommend that all swimmers attend to cheer on their Gator teammates. There will be several volunteer opportunities for this meet. It’s a very fun and very quick meet. And, what swimmer doesn’t love Kona Ice for breakfast?!

Looking Ahead

Mile Swim and Pirates Cove June 27: Mile Swim Day will be Tuesday, June 27, during regular practice times. Swimmers will be attempting to swim a mile (64 lengths) or a half mile (32 lengths). Please note parents/care givers/siblings are needed to act as length counters for our swimmers. Tally sheets and writing utensils will be available at the pool. Your swimmers will be amazed to see how far they can go. We will also use Mile Swim Day as our rescheduled Pirates Cove outing. Fingers crossed for a better weather forecast for a day at the waterpark.

Bye Week: There will be a holiday bye on Saturday, July 1, due to the 4th of July holiday. Therefore, no meet on Saturday, July 1, and no practice July 3, 4 or 5. Practice will resume July 6 with a quick turnaround meet on Saturday, July 8 at Governor’s Ranch.

We wish for Frankie to have a great week at her educational conference and we'll see everyone on Donut Monday. Swim fast!
