PCST Weekly Update
Good morning, Piranhas. We’re in the homestretch of the 2022 summer season! There’s a lot of information about the next few weeks below.
Swim A Thon THANK YOU
First and foremost, thank you Piranha families for your support during our Swim a Thon. PCST is a smaller team this year which has actually been really fun for us all. The smaller team did not come with decreased operating costs. As a board, we decided a priority for PCST was to keep our coaching staff fully intact. As a result, we needed to brainstorm fundraising options and Piranhas, you came through. Swimmers completed a total of 2400 lengths and collected a total of $3757.90 in pledges. That’s $1.57 per length and so incredibly appreciated. We hope you enjoyed the coach’s raffle video and congratulations to all our lucky winners. Thank you to Out of Breath and Slipstream Aquatics for their contributions. If anyone is in need of a donation letter for tax purposes, please contact Peggy at [email protected].
Away Meet - July 16
Our final meet before League is an away tri meet at Columbine Knolls Pool on July 16 against both Columbine Knolls and Grant Ranch. Warm up at 6:00am for big kids, 6:30am for little kids, volunteer check in and meeting at 6:45am and meet start at 7:00am. Contact Coach Frankie if your swimmer has questions about Ironman eligibility.
SJSL Championship Meet - League - July 22 and July 23
The SJSL Championship Meet is coming up fast. All swimmers are eligible to participate. A schedule change was made this week regarding the Friday night session. The 200 freestyle events were added to the 400s and 8&under 100 freestyle events to be swum at Bear Creek on Friday, July 22, with a meet start of 5pm. The remaining events will be swum at Governor’s Ranch on Saturday, July 23, with a meet start of 7am. All events are timed finals. The PCST volunteer commitment is set as two timers on Friday and nine timers total (3 shifts, 3 volunteers per shift) on Saturday. The league has again requested that we communicate there are to be no sharpie drawings on swimmers (with the exception of event/heats/lanes). Coaches are working on our spirit theme and Coach Frankie will announce the choice in this week’s meet information update.

Housekeeping
If you ordered photos from Imagetek, they are in your family mailboxes. Also, if your child is missing a towel, goggles or anything else, have them check the lost and found in the team shed. It’s growing into an impressive pile!
PCST Board Openings
As it was so starkly pointed out to me this season, I now have the oldest child on the team (thank you, Coach Frankie!). That was a very scary realization. As such, my last year on the board will be with the 2023 season. There are board openings! We’d love to have you. Fresh ideas and perspectives are very welcome. If you have an interest, please reach out.
Have a great week, Piranhas.
