PCST Weekly Update
Congratulations to all Gator and KCI swimmers! We haven’t seen results yet, but we know how well everyone swam. We had swimmers trying events for the first time, swimmers qualifying for the invite during their Gator events, so many personal bests and, especially for that third session KCI group, sheer fortitude in completing races. Someday Ken Caryl will just go ahead and print a t-shirt that simply states I Survived KCI. Thank you to all volunteers who showed up en masse for both meets. Such a huge help, we appreciate all that you do! On to a short but fun week.
Swim A Thon Tomorrow
We are so excited to host our first annual Swim A Thon tomorrow, Monday, June 27, during your swimmers’ normal practice time. This is a great way for swimmers to challenge themselves and see just how much they can swim during their normal practice time (a half mile? a full mile? 100 lengths??). All pledges are due July 6 to receive chances to win special prizes which include:
- A free private lesson from one of your coaches
- Ice cream with all of the coaches
- Lunch with all of the coaches
- A bag of goodies from Out of Breath
- Free swag from SlipStream Aquatics
Please encourage swimmers to reach out to friends and family for pledges so they can earn their chance at some of these prizes. Don’t have pledges? It’s OK! Swimmers are still welcome to come test their endurance. Parents/care givers/siblings are needed to act as length counters for our swimmers who may lose track swimming for as long and as far as they can. Attached please find pledge sheets. Thank you for supporting PCST!
Speeding Ticket Store June 28
The first speeding ticket store will be held on Tuesday, June 28, following your swimmer’s normal practice time. Bring those speeding tickets, they are the currency to purchase items in the store!
Fourth of July and Home Meet July 9
This week and next are short. There will be no practice this Friday, July 1, or next Monday and Tuesday, July 4 and July 5. Enjoy your holiday break and practice will resume Wednesday, July 6. The next meet is a home meet at Normandy Pool against Woodbourne on July 9. The turn around time to get events to Coach Frankie will be fast, so communicate as early as you can about availability and events for the July 9 meet. Volunteer shifts will open as usual the Sunday before the meet.
Happy Fourth!
