PCST Weekly Update
A huge shout out to our junior swimmer coaches, Esha and Ben, and our guest coaches, Peggy and Dena, for navigating us through such a successful meet. What a treat to see Frankie early in the day and we know she was there in spirit the whole time. Congratulations to Alyssa and Julianna, as well, as they welcomed a new brother-in-law to the family.

Next Away Meet – Saturday, June 18 – Columbine Knolls
Our next meet on Saturday, June 18, is away at Columbine Knolls. The meet starts at 7am. The big kids warm up at 6am, the little kids warm up at 6:30am. Coach Frankie, Coach Alyssa and Coach Julianna will be back. Columbine Knolls is new to South Jeffco Swim League, so this will be our first dual competition. Go Piranhas and welcome Columbine Knolls!
Volunteers
We can’t say thank you enough to all our volunteers. Thank you. Shifts for the week open at 7am on Sundays. Log in to Swimtopia, go to About, and Calendar Sign Ups (not RSVP). As always, prior to any meet shifts, please check in with Meredith Haworth at least 15 minutes prior to your shift start.
Ken Caryl Invite
Reminder the Ken Caryl Invite happens on Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, and is divided by age groups (schedule attached to June 5 weekly update). There will be no practice on Friday, June 24. KCI is a qualification meet and Piranhas have one more dual meet to qualify. If your swimmer does not qualify for the KCI, never fear. PCST will be hosting a virtual Gator Open on Wednesday, June 22, at Normandy Pool.
Gator Open – IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR ALL
The Gator Open has a number of participants that we can move it to the morning during practice times. This will help alleviate the risk of having to cancel in the evening due to weather and avoid having everyone return to the pool for a second time. As such, regular practice times and Gator Open times will be as follows:
6:15am-7:15am Practice – Group 1
7:10-7:55am Practice – 12 and under KCI Qualifiers
7:20-7:50am – Gator Open Swimmer Warm Up
8:00am – Gator Open Start
We are asking everyone who is able, including the older swimmers, to please stick around to help with timing and heating. The meet should last around one hour. Results for the Gator Open will be compiled by Governor’s Ranch and sent out after all the league teams finish their portion of the Open. The Gator is a great opportunity for these swimmers to try new things and shine!
Swim A Thon
PCST will be hosting a Swim A Thon during practice times on Monday, June 27. Some swimmers may use the Swim A Thon to attempt their annual mile (64 lengths) or half mile (32 lengths). Parent/care giver/siblings are needed to act as length counters for our swimmers who may lose track swimming for as long and as far as they can. Attached please find pledge sheets. Coaches are cooking up some fun prizes.
See you on Donut Monday!
