PCST Weekly Update
Welcome Back: Hope everyone enjoyed an enjoyable and restorative long holiday weekend. Swimmers resume a normal morning practice schedule Tuesday through Friday this week.
PCST @ Woodbourne: Our final (!) dual meet is this Saturday, July 10, at Woodbourne. Warm up and meet start schedules the same as all previous weeks. Volunteer shifts are open for the meet.
Mile Swim: Last week’s schedule did not treat mile swim plans well. As such, Normandy Pool will have a lap lane open to PCST swimmers from 11am-12pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week for anyone who would like to attempt the mile, ½ mile or 100 club. Counter sheets may be obtained during practice or you may make your own. Counter sheets need to be signed and turned in to Frankie by Monday, July 12.
League Meet: Prelims are Friday, July 16, and Finals are Saturday, July 17, at Governor’s Ranch. As of now, assume regular meet schedules. We will send out updated schedules if GvR communicates any changes. See Frankie’s email about league events for swimmers. Prelims will not have relays and the current understanding is any event with 16 entrants or less will be a final event, only (no prelim race if 16 or less entrants).
State Meet: Stay tuned, we’ll send details as soon as they are received.
Speeding Ticket Store: Swimmers have one more chance to earn speeding tickets during this weekend’s meet. The final speeding ticket store will be Wednesday, July 14.
Looking Ahead: The last day of regular practice will be Thursday, July 15. State qualifiers will practice July 19-July 23. Practice times for state practice will be modified. Our end of season celebration and awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, July 26, from 6:00-7:30pm. The celebration will be at the soccer field at Normandy Pool where the welcome back picnic was held. It will be BYO picnic, BYO chairs, etc. We hope to hold our traditional banquet next year. This year, it’s a casual outdoor event.
Have a great week, Piranhas!
