Mile Swim Day Thursday July 1

It was on the calendar, then it was off, now it's back on again - Mile Swim Day Thursday, July 1!

Mile Swim Day

Swimmers are given the opportunity to swim the mile challenge during morning practice. All swimmers are given one (1) hour, regardless of age group. Therefore, practice times will be tweaked just a bit for Thursday.

First Practice: 6:20-7:20am

Second Practice: 7:25-8:25am

Third Practice: 8:30-9:30 am

Ages 9+: are challenged to swim a full mile (64 lengths)

8 and under: are challenged to swim a half mile (32 lengths)

Bonus: Swimmers with extra time and energy remaining can strive to join the 100 Club as well (100 lengths in 1 hour or less)

What you need to know:

1. IMPORTANT: Swimmers must have a designated person to keep track of their lengths (tally sheets are provided). Tally sheets must be turned in for challenge credit.

2. Counters will sit at whichever end of the pool your swimmer starts. Bring your own chairs. More than one swimmer? It's not easy! Do your best.

3. All swimmers who successfully swim the designated lengths for their age group in one hour or less will receive a completion certificate.

4. Didn't complete the challenge, but tried? We love the effort and for all those who try, regardless of completing or not, a speeding ticket will be earned for the attempt.

Good luck, Piranhas!
