PCST Weekly Update
PCST pulled off a huge successful meet this past weekend. We could not have done it without the help of all our rock star volunteers and such a great group of respectful and kind kiddos (and of course their parents who help them). Thank you!
Practice: No new news – Normandy Pool fully open for practice this week.
Home Meet Saturday: The meet on Saturday, June 19, is a home meet against Governor's Ranch. Same start times, same team location set up. Volunteer shifts are open. Go PCST!
Photos: PCST photo day will be Monday, June 21, at 7:30am. There will be no morning practice. Swimmers will be photographed in their team suits. There will not be a full team photo this year (the photographer will create a team composite) so you may leave once your photos are done. Information from the photographer with ordering details will be forwarded on this week.
Gator Open: We keep hearing about the Ken Caryl Invite, but there is also the Gator Open. The Gator Open is only for swimmers who do not qualify for the invite. This is usually a large meet at Governor’s Ranch with all league teams together. However, the meet has gone virtual this year. It will be Wednesday, June 23, at 7pm at Normandy. It will be just our team and there will be no relays (it will go fast). It is a great meet to try new events. Results will be league-wide. Kona Ice will be at the pool for ordering to refresh our swimmers (and their siblings, their parents and spectators). Coach Frankie will touch base with swimmers about entries. We will need twice as many timers and stroke and turn judges and it’s just one shift all the way through. Volunteer shifts for the Gator will open tomorrow.
Virtual Meet vs Bear Creek: We have a virtual meet at Normandy during morning practice on Wednesday, June 30. It will run like a full meet but with just our swimmers. All races will count towards Ironman, state, etc. Results will be pulled together with Bear Creek for ribbons and places. We will need twice as many timers and stroke and turn judges and its just one shift all the way through. Volunteer shifts for the BC virtual meet will open next Monday.
Family Mailboxes: There are two black file boxes placed on the picnic tables during practice which are the family mailboxes. In these boxes, swimmers will find their family folder which contains meet ribbons, speeding tickets and any other pertinent documents. Hold on to those speeding tickets. A speeding ticket store will open in the not too distant future and the speeding tickets are a swimmer’s currency.
Volunteer Shifts: Shifts are still open for the home meet against Governor’s Ranch. As you can see, we’ll also need volunteers for Gator and the BC virtual meet. Standard weekly shifts will continue to open at 7am on Sunday mornings. Remember at least one of your shifts needs to be a post season (prelim/league/state) or special meet (KCI/Gator) shift. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer, please sign up where you can. Thank you!
Tracker Sheets: A time tracker document may be found on Swimtopia. The tracker is sorted by sheet by age group and may be printed for your use.
And finally: Please do not park in the Denver Equestrian property during practice or meets. We have a team parent who is selling last year’s team suit. A male size 22 and female size 28, $50 each or best offer. Contact Peggy with interest [email protected]
Have a great week, Piranhas
