PCST Weekly Update
Congratulations on a successful first meet!
Normandy Pool Update: A monstrous sigh of relief. We received confirmation this afternoon that Normandy Pool is full of water and chemicals are balancing. PCST may begin to use the pool this Tuesday, June 8. Therefore, Monday, June 7, will be a dryland practice. Please make sure your swimmers are dressed appropriately, are wearing closed-toe shoes, have a towel to sit on in the grass and bring a mask if wanted. Dryland practice will occur on the field north of the Normandy clubhouse. Practice times remain the same with the exception of the 6:20 practice. The 6:20 practice will start at 6:40am.
Swimtopia App: A lot of us tried the app for the first time at this weekend's meet and it was actually very useful. Event reminders were pushing through. The listed event was what was in the water for the most part. Results were listed as soon as they were entered by the computer team. There is a new Swimtopia app volunteer shift listed under our home meets so we can keep this up.
Coaches’ Chairs: Just a reminder to our families that we need to help our coaches coach (and keep them safe with distance) by keeping the coaches’ chairs free from swimmers at meets. The coaches need to pay attention to everyone in the water and, while the kids are super cute, they make watching what’s happening in the pool really difficult.
Volunteers: Thank you to all our meet volunteers. We couldn’t pull all of this off without you. Please remember that meets start at 7am. That means if you have a 7am shift, you need to have checked in and received your instructions from our volunteer coordinators, Meredith or Candice, before that time. The team handbook states check-in is 15 minutes prior to a shift start. If you do not know Meredith or Candice, do not hesitate to ask. Anyone will point you in the right direction. Shift change will be announced halfway through the meet.
KCIN and State Qualification Times: A link to the qualification times document may be found on our homepage.
Home Meet: PCST is hosting Ken Caryl this upcoming Saturday, June 12, at Normandy Pool. Ken Caryl is a very large swim team. Therefore, there may be some tweaks to the way the meet runs to make sure as many kids as possible can swim their events prior to when we need to have Normandy Pool turned over to the members. As of now, we have the same warm up and meet start time. We’ll communicate this week if there are changes. If you signed up for a donation volunteer shift, please bring your items to practice by this Tuesday, June 8. There are still volunteer shifts open for this home meet. Please review the shifts and sign up where you can. Thank you!
