Normandy Pool Update: The damaged pipes have been repaired (Yay). We’re now waiting on word that the pool will be filled and ready for use. Tuesday is not looking promising, but Wednesday is looking better. We have looked at alternate locations. At this time, due to the weather forecast and lack of availability, the outdoor pools do not seem to be an option. We’re still pursuing alternatives as we wait for word from Normandy on when we can get in the water. Please check your email for updates as we get closer to Tuesday.

Welcome Back Picnic: The welcome back picnic is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, from 5:30 to 7:00pm on the field north of the Normandy club house. There are thistles in the grass, so please bring chairs or blankets. As its outdoors, masks are at your discretion. Mac N Noodles will be onsite for ordering dinner or bring your own picnic. The forecast looks a little ominous, so, again, please check your email for updates.

Practice Reminders: Coach Frankie emailed practice times/lanes. If you did not receive this information, please contact Frankie at [email protected]. Bathrooms will be open for use, but the locker rooms will not, so be please make sure your swimmers arrive and leave in their suits. Caretakers will not be allowed on pool grounds during practice. Adults (and children not swimming) are welcome to wait outside the pool grounds, including on the southwest playground next to the tennis courts. Kickboards will be required this year – mark them well with your swimmers’ names. And, a covid reminder, please don’t come to practice if swimmers are not feeling well or are in quarantine.

Volunteer Shifts: Weekly volunteer shifts will open Sundays at 7am the week before a meet. The available multi shift volunteer positions are open now on Swimtopia – we still need a starter apprentice (or two). The multi shift positions count for all required volunteer shifts. These shifts, as well as the weekly shifts, are found under the About tab, Signup Calendar. Do not use the RSVP option, use the signup option. https://pcpiranhas.swimtopia.com/

First Meet: The first meet will be on Saturday, June 5, at Grant Ranch Pool. The meet starts at 7am. Warm up times are by age group (6:00 big kids or 6:30 little kids). Grant Ranch had stated we may need to sign waivers in person on Saturday morning.  Frankie and the assistant coaches will work with swimmers on meet entries.
