Volunteer Shifts and Deposit: A minimum of six (6) volunteer shifts are required from Piranha families. Five (5) shifts are regular season opportunities, one (1) shift is for post-season or special event (ie KC invite, League, State, etc.) opportunities. A volunteer deposit check of $250 will be collected from each family by June 1, 2021. Checks may be brought to practice or the picnic. Checks will be held until the end of the season. When families fulfill all volunteer requirements, the checks will be destroyed or returned. If volunteer requirements are not met, checks will be cashed. Very few checks are ever cashed as our families step up to volunteer. Multi shift positions fulfill all volunteer requirements. Single shift opportunities will open before our first meet. Below are a couple volunteer opportunities to prepare for now.

Starter: The best starter in the league will be leaving PCST after the 2021 season. Therefore, we need a starter’s apprentice to prepare to take on home meet starter duties as of the 2022 season. The apprentice will shadow Alice for the 2021 season. The apprenticeship will fulfill all 2021 volunteer requirements. Stroke and Turn Judge Training: Stroke and Turn Judges are always in demand. You must be trained by Peggy Merrill in order to sign up for Stroke and Turn Judge volunteer shifts. There is a Stroke and Turn Judge training on Monday, May 17, at 6:30pm via zoom. On deck training in tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 6:00pm at Governor’s Ranch pool. New Family Meeting: A new family meeting will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 2:00pm at Normandy Pool (socially distanced, with masks). If the pool is ready and the weather is cooperative, it’s possible a short swim practice may be completed. Fingers crossed.

Pre-Season Swim Practice: If the pool is ready and the weather is cooperative, we may have two (2) afternoon swim practices at Normandy Pool Tuesday, May 25, and Thursday, May 27. Details will come out closer to the dates. Again, fingers crossed.

Out of Breath and Team Suit: A second store has been opened up by Out of Breath with our new team suit. You may still purchase one if you missed the first store opportunity. Sweatshirts, t-shirts and sport pants are also available. This second store closes May 23.
