PCST Weekly Update

Hello Piranhas! Congratulations on two very successful meets.  The Gator had great weather and fantastic swims.  Instead of 'Fun in the Sun', the Ken Caryl shirt should've read, 'I survived KC Invite 2019'.  Frankie will send out KC Invite results as soon as they are available.  Very exciting finish! Now, some news about the week ahead and beyond.

Pictures, Pancakes and Pirates Cove:  This is all happening tomorrow, Monday, June 23.  No regular practice.  Instead, come dressed in your team suit (if you have one) and have individual photos taken starting at 7:30am.  The team photo should occur around 8:30am.  Order forms available at the pool.  Attached is the form for your reference.  Pancakes will be served to swimmers and coaches.  Parents, we can have the leftovers if there are any.  The PCST coaches and swimmer families are then meeting up at Pirates Cove for a team day.  This is very informal and is not required.  We try to set our things down near the lazy river on the south side and just go hang out with friends.  Tickets are available online or at the door.  Please note Pirates Cove has been closed the past few days due to weather.  The forecast looks great for tomorrow, they should reopen.

Speeding Ticket Store Monday!:  Bring your speeding tickets to pictures and pancakes on Monday morning, the speeding ticket store will be open!

Home Meet with Ken Caryl:  We have a home meet this Saturday, June 29, with Ken Caryl.  It looks like there is still a stroke and turn judge and donation volunteer shift open for the meet.  We are going to have some restrictions on entries for Saturday because of the size of the KC team, so this is a good meet to try some different events.

Ironman:  Frankie will post a report of where swimmers are with Ironman early this week.  For Ironman, a swimmer must compete in each individual event available to the age group, without DQs.

July 4 Break:  There will be no practice on July 4 or 5 and there will be no meet on Saturday, July 6, for the Fourth of July holiday.  Enjoy!  We return Monday, July 8, for Mile Swim Day.

Prelims and League:  Please remember SJSL has changed to a prelims/league finals structure for the end of year championship meets.  Swimmers must swim in the prelim meets to be eligible for the league finals.  Prelims happen Tuesday, July 16, at 7am for all 8&U, 9-10 girls and 15-18 age groups.  Prelims happen Wednesday, July 17, at 7am for all 9-10 boys, 11-12 and 13-14 age groups.  League Finals are Saturday, July 20.

This is a ton of information.  Please note that all these emails are saved on our website under About and News for your future reference  The link to our website is at the bottom of each of these emails as Platte Canyon Piranhas.  Have a great week!
